With support from Holme Valley Parish Council we have been creating paintings to be exhibited around Holmfirth for the coming festivals.
These photographs show works in progress by year 5 at Holmfirth JI and N school. Gorgeous colourful paintings which represent the festivals and the community events in Holmfirth. Look out for them in the windows of local shops Kayes and Forget-Me -Not, Holmfirth Library and the Market Hall .
Our Saturday Art School groups (Intermediates and Seniors ) are working hard on these paintings which will replace the current paintings along the river wall in the centre of Holmfirth. The paintings depict Holmfirth Festival of Folk, Holmfirth Arts Festival Creature Carnival Parade and the Food and Drink Festival.
The children and young people have applied their knowledge of colour theory and composition to the development of these artworks and they are going to really brighten up the river wall!
