We’re celebrating a year of fantastic music at MakerWorld.
We’ve been busy developing our relationship with local music provider, Musica Kirklees, and we’re loving our Friday Little Makers music and art sessions. We’ve had some wonderful workshops with our lovely MakerNoise drop-in choir and djembe drummers and we’re hoping to do much more of this in 2025.
We’ve also welcomed some extraordinary talent at the stool of our gorgeous 1884 Berlin-made Bechstein Grand Piano, on loan from northern artist collective, ame and we’re looking forward to running more piano open-mic sessions in the coming months, as well as helping provide a musical backdrop for the Creative Piazza’s calendar events (including Pride and Yorkshire Day).
However, now we have our fantastic new gallery space, we’d love to see more music groups taking advantage of the space and help us fulfil our ambition of a multi-arts provision in the town centre.
