Welcome to our MakerWorld Gallery impact report. We transformed an empty retail unit in Huddersfield town centre into a vibrant, free cultural space for children, young people and families. Over the course of a year, it delivered a varied programme of immersive exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops and participatory installations, encouraging young audiences not just to engage with art but to actively create, experiment and share their ideas.

At a time when free family activities are increasingly limited, MakerWorld demonstrated the impact of accessible, community-focused cultural provision. Its evaluation shows it successfully expanded access to the arts, boosted confidence and creative independence, strengthened family wellbeing, fostered a sense of belonging, and encouraged repeat visits to Huddersfield town centre while celebrating children’s creativity in a public space.
